Andy Martin, Field Recordist and Sound Designer
Award-winning nature sound field recordist and sound designer, Andy Martin's work has been featured in games, VR, film, television, commercial post-production, radio, art, and all- around fun projects. Professionally, Andy dedicated his early career to creative sound design in film, television, and interactive media. In 2015, he start Northwest Soundscapes to embark on a career-changing quest to record quiet natural sounds from around his home in the Cascadia region of North America. Over time he has shared his work to folks who like to listen to these kinds of recordings and has contributed to various projects as an ambience designer, nature sounds field recordist, and natural sound librarian. These days he continues his quest for more reflective, quiet, interesting natural sounds and wildlife as Andy Martin's Nature Sounds, using storytelling and sound to bring awareness to conservation goals, inspire a deeper appreciation of nature sound in anyone who will listen, and bring the natural world to those who can't go to it.
